4 Weeks to Go!

With just under 4 weeks to go we are in the throws of organised chaos!

We  are struggling to find out what's wrong with the batteries in the trailer (thankfully Steve is on the job). This means the fridge is not operational and we might be using the good old Esky instead. Not ideal for 10 weeks.
We are lucky enough to know lots of people that have done a similar trip or at least parts and the advice has come in thick and fast. I thing I have learnt is you can never know enough! So a big thanks to all those people, keep the ideas coming.
We have still to finalise the finer details of the itinerary but I think this is half the fun. We are now considering the Oodnadatta Track past Lake Eyre on the way north, then to Alice, Uluru, Kings Canyon, Kakadu, Dawin, Litchfield, Broome, Kimberlys then some how getting home.

The roads are still very wet and could open late due to the enormous amount of rain so who knows what will happen.
The kids were disappointed that they have to actually do some school work along the way. Declan is pleased that we are actually stopping and getting out of the car to look at the sites! (I think he thought we  were just going to drive past everything). We're very excited to say the least!!

The Beginning

In the beginning, when we were innocent and naive, we decided we wanted to learn more about our wonderful country. Turns out there is far more to do and see than imaginable. (Not a surprise) So we are busy planning our trip, considering sites, attractions, special event and dates, and of course the ever expanding budget.
The plan is to travel through NT seeing Uluru, Kings Canyon, Kakadu, Darwin, The Kimberlys and Broome. From there we haven't decided what to do next. We will be gone for 10 weeks.
We would love to hear your comments and ideas about where we should go and what to see along the way.
